Rotary Club of Lahaina Moves Toward Goal of 50 Members
The Rotary Club of Lahaina has announced the addition of six new members. Art Ortiz, the club’s president, recently inducted Julie Corrine Audino, Marsha Bryan, Laura Harwood, Josiah Moye, Karan Pohl and Mila Salvador into the 39-member club.
Setting a goal of 50 members for its 50th year in 2015, the Rotary Club of Lahaina has boosted membership to 39 with the addition of six new members. Art Ortiz, the club’s president, recently inducted Julie Corrine Audino, Marsha Bryan, Laura Harwood, Josiah Moye, Karan Pohl and Mila Salvador into the service club.
Julie Corrine Audino is a fitness professional, motivational speaker and inspirational writer. She holds a BS from Elmhurst College in Illinois, where she majored in Biology and minored in Theology. She is the author of FINDING YOUR PIECE: 32 Principles To Help Live Your Calling. Julie teaches yoga, strength and cardio classes at the Kapalua Spa and the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas.
Marsha Bryan, who has been a Rotarian since 2005, is a Professional International Real Estate Broker. After a highly successful career as a Realtor and Broker/Owner of a well-known national and international real estate franchise in Colorado for 14 years, Marsha is fulfilling a long-time dream of moving to Maui and practicing real estate in West Maui.
Laura Harwood is a Public Relations and Social Media Strategist for clients including the Maui Visitors Bureau and Benise, the Emmy-award-winning Spanish guitarist now performing in Lahaina. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a major in corporate and organizational communication. Before moving to Maui this year, she worked for the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health and a Washington public affairs firm.
Josiah Moye was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. After serving five years in the U. S. Navy, he earned his certification as a Starting Strength Coach and now helps others get stronger and in better shape at Valley Isle Fitness in Kaanapali. He is passionate about strength training, fitness, and inspiring others to change themselves for the better.
Karan Pohl and her husband Kym relocated from California to Maui this spring. Karan is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has been a CPA for over a decade. Her professional career began in auditing and transitioned to community banking where she held the position of Chief Financial Officer for almost a decade. Karan was a Rotarian in California and is excited to continue supporting the Rotary mission with the Rotary Club of Lahaina.
Mila Salvador is the Interim General Manager of The Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and is currently pursuing her MBA through the UH Manoa. Her passions are family and friends, community service, the outdoors, travel and new experiences.
The Rotary Club of Lahaina has been serving West Maui since 1965. The club is the largest Rotary club on Maui. It was named one of Maui’s most important non-profit organizations at the 2013 Mayor’s Small Business Awards.
The Rotary Club of Lahaina is open to all those with a passion for service, a desire for business networking, and a desire to expand their circle of friends. The club meets Thursdays for lunch at Royal Lahaina Resort, Royal Ocean Terrace restaurant, 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend every Thursday luncheon meeting.
